Iqbal Hossain (hossai13@chemistry.msu.edu)
Iqbal is originally from Rangpur, Bangladesh and
received his B.S. and M.S. in Chemistry from National
University, Bangladesh. After graduation, he worked as a
college level chemistry teacher. He joined the Blanchard
Research Group in Fall of 2018. He is currently working
on piezoelectric response of room temperature ionic
liquids (RTILs) in determining the origin of long-range
free charge gradient in the RTILs.

Andrew
Wendel (wendelan@msu.edu)
Andrew comes from Texas, where in 2019 he
received his B.S. in Forensic and Investigative
Sciences along with a minor in Chemistry from Texas
A&M University. He joined the Blanchard group in
the fall of 2019 and has begun work on studying the
dynamics of double excited state proton transfer
processes in super-photobase/super-photoacid systems.
Along with pursuing a higher degree in chemistry,
Andrew also hopes to complete his Master's in forensic
science during his time at MSU.

Homa Sadeghzadeh (sadeghza@msu.edu)
Homa
is from Mashhad, a city in the north eastern part of
Iran. She got her bachelor's degree in pure
chemistry from Sharif University of Technology in
Tehran, Iran. She joined the Chemistry Department
at MSU in 2019 and started working in the Blanchard
group in 2020. Currently, she is working on preparing
sulfonic acid monolayer compounds and studying the
effect of metal ions with different oxidation states on
the formation of these films.

Neelanjana
Mukherjee (mukher59@msu.edu)
Neela
is from India (born in Jhansi and schooling in New
Delhi). She earned her Bachelor's degree from St.
Xavier's College in Mumbai in 2017 and her Master's
degree from Institute of Chemical Technology, also
in Mumbai, in 2019. She joined
MSU in December 2020 and joined the Blanchard
group in January 2021. Her research focuses on
interfaces and monolayers.

Emily
Simonis (simonise@msu.edu)
Emily
is from Troy, Michigan and received her Bachelor's
degree in Chemistry as well as a minor in
Mathematics from the Lyman Briggs College at
Michigan State University. She Joined the Chemistry
PhD
program along with the
Forensic Science Master's program in the Fall of
2021. Currently Emily is working on studying the
mechanism behind conductance in ionic liquids.
