MSU ACS Teacher Grants

The MSU Local section will award five $200 grants to teachers in the local section who are attending ChemEd 2011. The conference will be held July 24-28, 2011 at Western Michigan University in Kalamazoo. More information can be found at the conference website.

The following will be considered in the selection of grant recipients: whether the applicant is (1) a participant in MSU local section activities (i.e. Chemistry Day or our Chemistry Teachers Support Group), (2) a ChemEd 2011 meeting presenter, (3) a first time attendee at a ChemEd conference, and/or (4) an ACS member. In addition, the level of funding the applicant has from other sources will be considered.

Applications must be received by June 24, 2011 and will be reviewed by the MSU Local Section Executive Committee. The support decision will be delivered to the applicant by the Chair. Interested persons can contact local section secretary Kathy Severin or other Local Section board member if they have questions about the grants.
