Reactions of Aldehydes & Ketones

Create a problem by selecting a reactant and a reagent from the lists on the right below. When the Show Problem button is pressed reactant(s) will be displayed in the drawing window, and reaction conditions together with some reagents will be described in the information window beneath. Using the drawing window, draw a structural formula for the chief organic product formed in this reaction. You may use the CLR or DEL buttons on the row at the top of the drawing window to modify the formula of the reactant(s) and to remove a + sign. The aldehyde hydrogen is shown in the reactants, but should not be drawn in the product(s) unless it is on a double bond. Do not designate any double bond configurations. If no reaction is expected, draw the starting reactant structure.
Once you have drawn your answer, press the Check Answer button to have it evaluated. Press the Reset button before trying a new problem.
