Reactions of Alkenes
Organic chemical reactions generally have three components: Reactants, Reagents & Products.
In this problem we shall consider three isomeric alkene reactants:
3-methyl-1-butene || || 2-methyl-2-butene || || 2-methyl-1-butene|
These compounds may be reacted with eight different reagents:
| HCl || || Br2 || || HOBr || || Hg(OAc)2 |
(aq. mercuric acetate)
| NaBH4 || || B2H6 |
(BH3 in ether)
| || H2O2|
(in aq. NaOH)
| || KMnO4 |
