Molecular Models

Ball & stick models of some simple molecules are displayed here. If all the models are not displayed, it may be necessary to reload the page by clicking the reload button. Spacefilling and simple stick models may also be viewed. Carbon atoms are colored dark gray, hydrogens are cyan, oxygen is red, and nitrogen is blue. The molecules can be rotated by clicking on the structure and dragging the mouse. Holding the shift key during this operation allows zooming. A full menu of options appears by clicking on the Jmol logo in the bottom right corner of each image.

RasMol models do not normally show non-bonding valence shell electron pairs, but the following representations have been modified so that the spatial regions occupied by these electrons are shown in purple. As noted above, nitrogen is blue, oxygen is red and hydrogens are cyan.
