Classifying Chemical Reactions

Part I   This problem requires only a general knowledge of basic organic reactions.

Nine chemical reactions are shown on the right. Classify each as Addition, Elimination or Substitution.
Be sure to enter the numbers corresponding to your selections in the appropriate answer box. Do not enter superfluous characters, since they will be counted as incorrect answers.

A. Which are addition reactions?

B. Which are elimination reactions?

C. Which are substitution reactions?

Part II   This problem is a review of many functional group reactions.

For the same nine reactions on the right, identify those which require acids or bases, either in catalytic or equivalent (stoichiometric) amounts, in order to proceed to product(s) in a reasonable time.
Enter numbers corresponding to your selections in answer box D. Do not enter superfluous characters, since they will be counted as incorrect answers.

D. Which reactions require acid or base to proceed?
