129 undergraduate participants from 38 universities will present more than 100 posters at the Symposium.

We are trying to book more hotel rooms due to high demand for hotel accommodation. A confirmation of acceptance to the Symposium, participant and roommate lists will be emailed at the beginning of the next week.

The Midwestern Symposium on Undergraduate Research in Chemistry (MSU-R:CHEM) will be held on October 11th, 2014 at Michigan State University in the beautiful East Lansing, Michigan. The symposium will showcase undergraduate creativity and research achievement as well as bring together chemistry faculty from the Midwest region.

The Symposium format was changed to a one day (Saturday) event for the participant convenience. Free hotel accommodation will be provided for any interested participants on Friday, October 10th with the priority given to participants who will be traveling further for the Symposium. For participants who live within an 1 hour drive the hotel accommodation will be provided on first-come, first-served basis.

Unlike to previous years, undergraduate students can register and attend the Symposium without presenting a poster. We would like to strongly encourage students to present a poster. Students presenting a poster will be given priority in acceptance to the Symposium.
