Aldohexose Configurations

Three configurational representations of aldohexoses are commonly used. In this exercise the eight D-aldohexoses provide examples. Select one of these from the following list. You may then display one of the configurations by selecting a format from the choices beneath the windows and pressing the "Choose Format" button. Try to modify one of the two remaining generic drawings by using the drawing tools. Be sure to change the drawing format to the new representation you have chosen. Leave the anomeric site in the Haworth display unspecified (as drawn). It is colored green in the Jmol model.
Your answer will be evaluated by clicking the "Check Answer" button. All three configurational representations may then be viewed by clicking the "Show Configurations" button.
