Registration Information


Registration consists of two steps.

After you have registered, you will be prompted to create a password which you will use to submit your abstract(s) via the Abstract Information and Submission page. Lodging will be available at Candlewood Suites which is a hotel adjacent to the James B. Henry Center at Michigan State University. Registration Fees and Deadlines

Registration fee includes all meals during the workshop, use of conference center facilities, a musical concert, and a printed copy of the workshop program and abstracts. The meals covered by the registration fee consist of:

Early Bird Discount Registration with the lowest fees closes on April 30, 2008 (PLEASE NOTE THE EXTENSION OF THE ORIGINAL DEADLINE OF APRIL 15, 2008). To get the Early Bird discounted rate, the registration payment must be received in full by April 30, 2008. Standard Registration will close on May 31, 2008. To avoid the highest Late rate, the registration payment must be received by May 31, 2008. You can still register between June 1, 2008 and June 30, 2008, but at a significantly higher Late rate. Registration will close on June 30, 2008. All registration payments using the fee structure and cut-off dates shown in the table below must be made prior to the workshop or at the time of check-in with the registration desk.

Deadline for inclusion in the printed program is May 31, 2008. Registrations and abstracts received after that date may not be printed in the program, but you may still request a poster slot.

**A verification of your student/postdoc status is required before or upon arrival to QSCP-XIII (mailed, emailed, or faxed to the Local Organizing Committee using the contact information given below, or presented at the workshop). Examples include a brief letter or email from the student/postdoc's advisor, a letter from the student's graduate school, or a letter from the student/postdoc's department.

Accompanying Persons

Accompanying persons who would like to use the workshop meal service, including the banquet, as described above, should be registered through the associated participant's registration procedure using the on-line registration form. Accompanying persons who do not want to use the workshop meal service, but still want to participate in the trips that are part of the Social Program, should be registered as well by selecting the appropriate meal and trip options ("No" for meals and "Yes" for the desired trip(s)). Accompanying persons who do not want to use the workshop meal service will be able to purchase breakfasts, lunches or dinners from the University Club and bill these charges back to their hotel room at Candlewood Suites. Accompanying persons who do not want to use any of the workshop services (meals or trips) do not have to be registered at all.

*All prices are in US dollars. Meal service and trips for children 0-3 will be free. Children 0-3 do not have to be registered.

Payment Options

Payment of fees may be made in either of two ways: (i) by electronic funds transfer (i.e. bank or wire transfer), or (ii) by check. You will select one of the two payment options in the on-line registration form. Further details of your selected payment method will be provided upon completion of the registration process.

Confirmation and Acknowledgments

No reservations for meals or social events will be made if payment is not received. All registrations received will be acknowledged by e-mail. If an acknowledgment is not received within 14 days, please contact the organizers at    .

Your individual registration details may be reviewed at any time by you (access is password controlled) here.

Cancellation & Refunds

Cancellation must be made in writing to the Local Organizers at    . Cancellations received before June 1, 2008 will be refunded less an administration charge of 25 %. Cancellations made after this date will not be eligible for a refund. Any cancellation charges imposed by the lodging provider will have to be paid by the participant to the lodging provider.

Special Requirements

Please indicate any special requirements, including special dietary requirements, on the on-line registration form.

Privacy

A list of participants will be issued to all participants and sponsors. If you do not want your details included on this list, please send an email to the Local Organizing Committee at    .

Insurance

Participants should ensure they have sufficient personal insurance to cover any medical expenses, damage or loss of personal effects. The Organizers of the QSCP-XIII workshop do not accept liability for personal injury or loss or damage to property belonging to participants during the QSCP-XIII workshop or any affiliated events.
