Quill, Laurence Larkin

- We (after McCarty) show: Laurence L Quill (1901-____) (PhD 1928, Illinois)
(MSU ____-1967) (none)
- Quill's early publications (1928 - 1936) are either sole authored, or co-
authored with Pierce Selwood (received his PhD at Illinois in 1931),
H. C. Kremers (received his PhD at Illinois in 1917), and/or
B. S. Hopkins.
The earliest co-authored (Hopkins and Selwood) paper's title "Observations
on the rare earths. XXX. Studeis in the absorption spectra" very nearly
matches Quill's thesis title. As Selwood is apparently another graduate
student (3 years behind Quill) and as B.S. Hopkins is a professor at
Illinois, it is very likely that Hopkins is Quill's preceptor.
