The Blanchard group is interested in the characterization of interfaces, understanding local organization in solution phase systems and laser spectroscopy.  We have four projects under active investigation at the moment:

o    Design and characterization of novel layered interfaces

o    Understanding solvent local organization using vibrational population relaxation and rotational diffusion measurements

o    Determination of the molecular processes occurring at the onset of crystallization from solution

o    Design and characterization of novel photopolymerizable systems

We attack these problems from a multidisciplinary perspective that includes an array of measurement techniques, chemical synthesis and modeling.
